WritersDigest.com - A web version of the print magazine, this site includes information and tips for writers in all genres as well as personal writing (journaling) and scriptwriting.
Writer Organizations - Compiled by ForWriters.com, a list of national, local and online writer's organizations.
Resources for Writers - A section of "Robin's Nest", a website for writers of all genres, writers will find links, articles, and a list of writers workshops and online courses.
Writers Write: The Internet Writing Journal - Author interviews, writing tips and a book review section are included on this site.

Black Writers Alliance - A site that encourages writers to connect with one another. Billing itself the largest interactive community of Black writers on the Internet, people of all races, colors and creeds are welcome to join.
Historical Fiction at Yahoo! Groups - Discussion Group for serious writers of historical fiction.
Horror Writers Association Includes tips, reading lists and the Bram Stoker Award Winners for Superior Acheivement in the horror writing field.
Mystery Writers of America - Billing itself the "premier organization for mystery writers and other professionals in the mystery field", Mystery Writers of America members are restricted to published authors, editors, sreenwriters... Presents the Edgar Awards to authors of distinguished work in various categories of the mystery genre.
Poets & Writers - Online version of the print magazine, offering feature articles, news, and writing tips.
Romance Writers of America - Provides networking and support to individuals seriously pursuing a career in romance fiction. The New England Chapter of RWA can be found here.
Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America, Inc. - Presenting the Nebula Awards for the science fiction or fantasy writing in a variety of categories, this association also advocates for its members--published authors, editors, and allied professionals. The website provides many useful pages for authors and those wishing to become science fiction or fantasy authors.
Sisters in Crime - Open to those individuals who want to "promote the work of women mystery writers", the website maintains lists of member's works, as well as links to other mystery sites and to mystery bookstores.
Western Writers of America - Home of the Spur Awards for distinguished writing in the western field and promoting the literature of the American West, members write everything from mainstream fiction to local history. The site includes "Roundup" an online magazine, author contacts, and booklists.
The Young Writers Club - One of many sites for young authors, this club "aims to encourage children of all ages to enjoy writing as a creative pastime" by letting them submit their work and helping them improve their writing abilities. Membership is free and there are club rules for all to follow.

American Medical Writers Association - Founded to "promote excellence in writing, editing and producing printed and electronic biomedical communications", the website includes membership information and pages for members only.
American Society of Journalists and Authors - A membership organization with resource and referral, links, a public newsletter and more for freelance writers and those interested in journalistic and nonfiction writing.
National Association of Science Writers, Inc. - A membership organization for science writers or students studying science writing.
National Education Writers Association - Website of the professional association for journalists covering education.
National Writers Union - The trade union for freelance writers who work for American publisher or employers.
Society of American Travel Writers - A professional association for travel writers that encourages the conservation and preservation of travel resources worldwide, and promotes responsible journalism.
Society of Children's Book Writers & Illustrators - Professional organization serving the people who write, illustrate or share interest in children's literature. The New England chapter includes the Connections Directory, a database of New England authors and illustrators who are available for school and library speaking events.
Society of Professional Journalists - Website of an organization whose goals include promoting a well informed populaceand fostering excellence among journalists.
Writers Guild of America - Representing writers in the motion picture, broadcast, cable and news media, this site offers articles, lists, and a free e-newsletter.
