2003, The 100th aniversary of the Wright Brothers' first flight.

Two bicycle shop owners from Ohio design, build, and fly the world's first airplane. Some consider this the single most significant event of the last century. At Kill Devil Hills, an expanse of sand hills located about four miles south of the village of Kitty Hawk, North Carolina, the Wright brother’s first heavier-than-air powered flight took off at precisely 10:35 a.m., on December 17, 1903, lasted 12 seconds and traveled 120 feet.
