Photography

From the earliest photograph (1826) to online digital (2002)

Photography is so much a part of our lives it's difficult to imagine a world without it. Before the mid-19th century, all visual images were dependent on painting, drawing, or printmaking. The first public announcements of successful photographic processes appeared 1839. Joseph Nicephore Niepce's 1826 view from a window is considered the world's first successful attempt at photography.
