Black History Month Webliography
The month of February includes Abraham Lincoln’s birthday (Feb. 12) and Frederick Douglass’s presumed birthday (Feb. 14). During this month we recognize the achievements and contributions by African Americans. This observance of Black History began in February 1926 with a one-week period. In 1976, the observance period was extended to the entire month.
